| Moran Dán is the name adopted by this multimedia artist. It is formed from two Gaelic words: 'Moran' meaning 'much' or 'multi'and 'Dán' (pronounced like 'Dane') which can mean either 'art' or 'poetry' (Scottish or Irish Gaelic) both of which fit just fine... thus 'Multi-Media'
Moran Dán incorporates her own writing, music, pastel paintings, dance and imagination into her creations.. a virtual one-person multimedia band!

Born in Toronto, Ontario, the only daughter of a Cape Bretoner who had left the island to seek his fame and fortune.. (a job) Moran says:
'When I was crossing the causeway to Cape Breton Island for the first time in my life, I got this weird feeling... like, I was coming home!'
Thus the title of the CD...
'It Feels Like Home'

Moran has tried to capture the ethereal feeling of Cape Breton in both her lyrics and music, creating an atmosphere of timelessness with the use of background ambience created on her MIDI keyboard, and soft, haunting harmonies.
A video is also in the making to go along with the title cut from the CD.
Go to Download.com/morandan to hear a couple of songs recorded in my friend's basement with the help (keyboard/vocals) of their daughter, Carmel. She also wrote the music on one of the songs (Constant Shore).
