- NEW!! There will not be a timer left for runners who
cannot complete their leg in the allotted time. Their time will be that of the slowest runner of that leg plus 5 minutes. The time limit will be roughly equal to 6 min. per km. (9 min. 30 sec. per mile).
- NEW!! Headlamps are not to be worn while running.
- No bicycles to be used on the course during the race.
- Run on the left side of the road facing traffic.
- Step off the road for oncoming traffic.
- When the finish line is on the right, the runner must cross the road at as close to a 90-degree angle as possible to minimize danger to the runner and to minimize the number of vehicles being held for the runner. Take directions from the course marshals.
- Pull off the road for water stops (or keep running).

Two other team related vehicles will be provided with a white identification number. These vehicles cannot provide team support in terms of providing water to runners, but may cheer on runners from the side of the road.
- UPDATED!! Starting at 10 minutes prior to leg start no traffic will be allowed to leave the area. Those teams providing a water stop 5km into the race should have left before this time to allow them to set-up their water station. At 10 Minutes after Leg start, 20 teams will be allowed to leave. At 15 minutes another 20 teams will be allowed to leave, and at 20 minutes the remaining teams will be allowed. The teams, (for the 10, 15 and 20 minutes leaving times) will picked at the captains meeting and given identification. At 25 minutes after the leg start, the rest of the vehicles can leave. We found that this gradual release works best and prevents traffic hang-ups. This actually gives at least 20 minutes when teams can interact and work on their scavenger hunt items.
- REMINDER!! NO pacing of slowing from road speed is permitted while traveling along the road. To support a runner drive ahead, find a safe spot to pull your vehicle completely off of the road, and support runner. The RCMP will be present on the race course and monitoring this situation. - No parked vehicle shall be permitted to leave the start/finish area later than 10 minutes prior to the leg start time.
- Illumination of the road at night for the benefit of a runner is not permitted.
- Only one vehicle per team is permitted to accompany a runner during each leg. This vehicle must not pace the runner; it must stop in a safe place and pull off the road, service and support the runner and move on to another place to stop. All other vehicles must go to the end of the leg to wait for the runners to finish.
- Vehicles must have all four wheels off the road when stopped along the race course.
- NEW!! No team is allowed to bring and/or use a siren.
Team rules
